We have been following the DMV's superstar, Wale (pronounced Wha-lay) since late 2007, but he has been on the scene since 2005 when he dropped his first mixtape, Paint a Picture. He has followed up with releases every year since, Hate Is The New Love in '06, 100 Miles & Running in 2007, and The Mixtape About Nothing in May of 2008. Ahead of a retrospective exhibition at New York’s Deitch Projects Gallery as well as the release of The Stephen Sprouse Book by Roger & Mauricio Padilha, luxury goods label Louis Vuitton will transform its SoHo flagship into a temporary showcase by the late Stephen Sprouse. Covered the store front in its entirety will be Sprouse’s signature graffiti in neon and vinyl, while a 6-foot neon light installation of Sprouse’s Rose design will be hung at the window.

Today the store became the debut point for LV’s latest, the Rose Collection, inspired by Sprouse’s previous work. The new collection will be available at all LV retail locations on February 2nd. However, 2 limited edition items will only be available at the SoHo flagship – 3 sets of skate decks imprinted with Stephen Sprouse’s graffiti + an unique Louis Vuitton Monogram skateboard trunk (seen above), and 70 units of Stephen Sprouse “Roses” T-Shirt. The skate deck and trunk set will sell for $8,250 each. The limited edition t-shirt will be available for $250 each. All proceeds will be for 3 charities centered on the promotion of art in NYC: Free Arts NYC Program, Sprouse Estate, and Stephen Sprouse Memorial Scholarship Fund at National Academy of Design.

So what's good everybody? I just got home after an 8 hour drive from Montreal. I forgot all my money in the casino but for the most part Montreal was cool. In down-town montreal I hit up St. Catherine street, which is known for it's high class store's in particular I hit up this cool "Upperground" street wear boutique called "Off the Hook" They carried a bunch of different labels from Undefeated to Stussy....shit was G. Anyway if you're ever in montreal I strongly suggest going there because the rest of the city sucks dick...

In 1992, Mount Vernon hip-hop duo Pete Rock & CL Smooth released their debut album Mecca and the Soul Brother on now nonexistent Elektra Records. The first single off the album They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.), was inspired by the death of their close personal friend Troy Dixon (better known as " Trouble" T. Roy of Heavy D & the Boyz) in mid July 1990. The song did not garner initial success but has gone on to be a hip-hop classic and a personal favorite here at HypeTricity. We are giving you not only the original great track, but two remixes as well. They, as well as everything else we post, ARE worth downloading.. holla!
