Long Island Wildin

We got a new track from my boy Achillez I told you all we would be featuring. Well, half new. This is a remix to a track that came out about a year ago called Sufferin' Succotash. The track is produced by Fate L from Lindenhurst, NY. Look out for the album, which will be fully produced by Fate L, in early 2009. Also be on the look out in the coming days for an EP featuring a new track by Achillez as well as tracks by unsigned Cleveland artist TreaZon and remixes by Fate L and 2FR.

Still Listen To Gangsta Music

When I first started getting into hip hop I hated Cam'ron, 40 Cal, and all of Dipset. I did not count them as real artists because I thought the way they flowed on their tracks was not "rapping". To me they were just talking shit over base heavy instrumentals and it sounded terrible. Eventually not only did I begin to enjoy their music, but realized it was rapping but just another way of doing it. It's a great example of why we here at HypeTricity, love not just hip hop but all types of music. Music is music. It's ill. Enough of my bullshit, here's a banger off Killa Cam's Purple Haze that you might have looked over. I know I did.

Old School And Loving It

Saw these two pics as i was surfing around today. Gotta love the haircut on both of these guys. The top pic is Rick Ross when he was a correctional officer, believe that?! The bottom pic has a young ludacris standing next to his man 4-Ize who is wearing a throwback Charlotte Hornets warm-up suit. Shit is DOPE.

OH YEA , WE GOT 1000 VIEWS SO FAR. THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT AND KEEP CHECKIN HYPETRICITY!

Cornershop- Candyman

You may have heard this song in the recent Nike commercial for the Lebron James VI shoe. It caught our ear so we had to track it down for you. Cornershop comes from the UK fusing indian music, britt indie rock, and electronic dance for one fun sound. There third album, When I Was Born for the 7th Time, has been nominated by Q Magazine as one of the 100 Greatest British Albums Ever. You may also want to download another single of theirs, Brimful of Asha.

UN's Palace of Nations, Geneva

Spanish artist Miquel Barceló's painting on the ceiling of the United Nation's building in Geneva reportedly costs $23 million, envoking widespread controversy. Barceló used more than 100 tons of paint with pigments from all over the world. The project took over a year to complete even with the help of architects, engineers and particle physics laboratories that were used to develop the extra-strength aluminum for the dome. Hey, they never said fresh had to be cheap!

50 Cent addicted ?!?!?!?(Quote of the Day)

“I feel like I’m a work in progress, and if I’m honest with you, I’m a junkie. I’m addicted to success. There’s no rehab for success, or I’d go check in right now.”

BMW Multi-Functional Key

BMW and Philips subsidiary NXP have invented a prototype multifunctional car key that functions as a credit card for cashless transactions including shopping, public transport e-ticketing, tolls and parking payments, and much more.Obvious security concerns associated with the theft of such a multifunctional device are alleviated through online monitoring of the key’s activities, as well as further security features that are expected to be put in place when the device hits the market some time next year. Although the market’s acceptance of such a potentially double-edged sword remains to be seen, BMW remains optimistic of its eventual widespread adoption.

Un-Common Without Kanye

Chi-town legend, Lonnie Lynn dropped his eighth album yesterday on Geffen Records and G.O.O.D. Music. The album was slated to be released under a different title back in June, but was pushed back due to Common's filming obligations for the new Terminator. Fortunately(at least to us. Well not fortunately but it is not the worst thing that can happen.) Common was unable to get long time fan, Kanye West behind 95% of the production on the album. To most this would be a bad thing but after reviewing the album in its entirety, we have claimed it a great thing. With Kanye, almost every track had the same laid back beat with Common's laid back flow over it that left you with the feeling it would be an ill song to smoke a blunt to or fall asleep to. By leaving off Kanye, Common has the same laid back flow we all know and love but over beats that leave you feeling energized and hype enough that you could go work out while listening to it. Since Common and West started working together in 2004, everything Common put out went at least gold, but was never regarded by anyone we knew, as albums to keep in your car or stereo for weeks on end. Be and Finding Forever were both very good albums, but like the San Antonio Spurs, they were just good but very boring. With heavy production from The Neptunes, every track is upbeat, uptempo, and more importantly, good. Universal Mind Control looks to become one of Common's best albums and a personal favorite here at HypeTricity. Let us know what you think!

Idle Warship- Black Snake Moan

Black Snake Moan is a recent song by the group Idle Warship. Idle Warship consists of Res and Graf Nobel, as well as hip hop veteran Talib Kweli. The group will be performing at BB Kings in N.Y.C. on December 22. Hopefully, Talib Kweli continues to bring us the freshness.

The Search

The Search is a band from Windsor, Connecticut led by Chris Brown ( no, not that Chris Brown). When I recently interviewed the group and asked them where they fit in with their fun and unique sound they had this to say, "We just enjoy fusing our pop, piano, and rock influences into one and seeing what comes out". The Search sounds like a mix of One Republic and Coldplay with a pop feel. There is definitely something different about them that you should all check out. Download their two hits below...

Jay-Z Featuring Santogold-"Brooklyn (We Go Hard)"

This is a new track from Hov which is rumored to be on The Blueprint 3. Produced by none other than Mr.West himself, the track features Brooklyn artist Santogold, who has become a pop sensation since two of her singles gained mass internet attention back in 2007. This track will also be featured on the soundtrack for the new movie "Notorious" which documents the life of the late and great Christopher George Latore Wallace.

The Zutons- Pressure Point

The Zutons are a indie rock collective from Liverpool and have been recording together since 2001. We first peeped this track, which is off of the bands debut album, Who Killed..... The Zutons?, back in late 2006 when a friend of ours from Manchester sent us over a mix of all the stuff he was listening to at the time. This track immediately caught our attention and has remained a favorite since. You may have already heard it as the theme song to one of the seasons of MTV's, The Real World. Hope you can dig it.....
